Two weeks in heaven

In general: My wife and I have just come back from here and I cannot praise the B & B enough. The whole atmosphere from the moment you arrive is perfect! The rooms are large and airy with mosquito screens over the windows, a/c available to stir or cool the air. The en-suite bathroom is all one could ask for with plenty of solar hot water all the time. Nadia and Simonetta are the perfect hosts helping with breakfast every morning in the alfresco dining area. A perfect breakfast of cereals, muesli, hams, cheeses, cooked eggs, spinach and ham pies, they are SO good, rolls and wonderful home made jams and confitures. And all this washed down with fresh coffee/tea or choclate. All the while the sun shines and life is good! Location and surroundings: The B & B is just inland from the resort of Posto Rosso and is the perfect place to set out and explore. Many of the beaches are rock immediately by the resort but 3 kms down the road and the coast is miles of soft smooth sand with a turquoise sea to swim in. The most ideal place for children of any age with safe shallow swimming. You will need to buy a parasol as the midday sun is very strong. There are plenty of tavernas every where to eat or have a beer/ coffee/ juice. Service: The service and room cleaning was exemplary, and all done with the minimum of fuss. There is a cooking point where you can prepare pasta or boil a kettle during the day or evening which was lovely for us as we did not want to drive every day. Wifi is good and able to supply our needs. Car parking is easy with plenty of space at the B & B and all set in lovely gardens. Dining: There is a brilliant taverna just 10 minutes away and easy to walk to; all the tables are set under old fig trees. Good menu of fish, meat and pizzas. The local wine is wonderful and not to be missed! We went back five times. There are many restaurants in every direction all offering wonderful food and a lovely time. Sports and leisure: There is a large and clean swimming pool, 7m x 14m and 1.4m deep, fabulous! Sunbeds and parasols freely available. Room: Large beautifully clean rooms, lovely and airy. All have there own TV, safe and a small fridge. The double bed was so comfortable. Bathroom was large and spotlessly clean with plenty of clean towels. One thing we liked was the lack of street lights near our bedroom, just darkness and a cool breeze. All the rooms open with a card so no keys to fuss over. Useful tips: Give yourself time to enjoy the resort and Nadia and Simonetta's company; a place of peace and comfort. It was lovely to sit and read during the day, have a swim, have light lunch, read more and sleep. There are very few mosquitoes here so it is wonderful to sit out in the evening warmth with a glass of your favorite, and watch the swallows swooping on the pool for a drink. Considering how busy Puglia is in high season the Stella Resort B & B is an oasis of peace and bliss and yet just moments from all the action.
